As much as I don't spend that much time in it these days due to audiobooks and podcasts, but synthpop is my favorite genre of music. You can blame Depeche Mode for that, when I was in my 20's the 45" vinyl of People Are People was released and that got me hooked. Combine them with De/Vision, Red Flag, And One, Mesh, Interpol, and the like and you have the type of music I think I would create if I were musically inclined. For some reason I much prefer European synthpop to American, but there are some good state-side bands as well. Here is my Spotify synthpop playlist: Yes, there is purposely no Depeche Mode on this playlist. It would be several times longer otherwise.

Nice! I am a fan of Depeche Mode, and Tears for Fears. The first vinyl record I bought was a singles EP. I just checked to see if I still have it and I didn't see it... Wish I could remember the two songs that were on it. I bought it because I had a friend that wore a Depeche Mode shirt, and I fell in love with it.
